Commission On College Basketball Charter
No great teams. The Related Press school basketball ballot began on Jan. 20, 1949. The unique ballot had 20 teams, with Saint Louis the first college to hold the No. 1 ranking. From the 1961-sixty two season by way of 1967-68 only 10 groups were ranked. It expanded once more to 20 groups from 1968-sixty nine by way of 1988-89. The Prime 25 began the next season, and it has stayed at that number ever since. The AP’s closing ballot is released after the sphere for the NCAA Tournament is selected.
